 Our licensed care team provides telehealth and virtual counseling services to individuals and families across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. Because therapy licenses are regulated state-by-state, you must be physically located in MD, DC, or VA at the time of your session.

Yes! We are in-network with several major insurance plans. Origins Counseling Services proudly accepts in-network coverage for:

• CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield
• Cigna
• UnitedHealthcare
• Maryland Medicaid
• DC Medicaid

Coverage can vary based on your specific plan, state, and clinician. Our Client Care team will gladly assist you in verifying your benefits prior to your first session.

What if my insurance isn't listed?

If you have a different insurance provider, you can still access care with us! We offer self-pay rates and can provide you with an itemized Superbill (health receipt) to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits that cover a significant portion of session costs.

Therapy and counseling focus on exploring emotions, processing experiences, and building long-term coping strategies through evidence-based talk therapies. Medication management is provided by our psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP), who evaluates whether psychiatric medication might complement your care to help stabilize symptoms. Many clients find the greatest success by combining both approaches! 

Everyone’s mental health journey is unique. Some clients achieve their specific goals through short-term care (8–12 sessions), while others benefit from ongoing, long-term support. You and your clinician will regularly review your progress together to ensure your treatment plan evolves with your needs.
